I’ve seen these kinds of hidden cameras mostly in China and Japan, I think there are even jobs that primarily looks for these hidden cams in places (sometimes not only in hotels/motels, even public bathrooms and changing rooms in stores have these hidden cams!!) This just gives me major paranoia in public.
I protect myself by staying home anymore, just glad I am old and already had my experiences, travel. If I need to stay in a hotel and there is a hidden camera, the joke is on the person recording me. I also will NEVER stay in an AirBnb again, once I found out they are allowed to have cameras everywhere inside (except place you change clothing, the bedroom and bathroom). It’s a bunch of nonsense, if I am paying that much money to rent a place for one night (including almost $50 for a ‘cleaning fee’). I Demand privacy at all times inside a place. And I would also want privacy if making a cell phone call outside but on the property.
